Start your circle

Jeremy Iggers

Thanks for coming. Almost everyone I know complains about Facebook, but we stay because that’s where our friends are. Global Twin Cities is my answer: a place where you can leave – and bring your friends with you.

Here’s how it works.

1. Register

It’s free. I approve each new member myself, usually within a day, so watch for an email from Global Twin Cities. While you wait, add a photo and a short bio to your profile.

2. Join Jeremy’s Circle and say hello

My own circle is a good way to see how circles work. Ask to join Jeremy’s Circle, introduce yourself, and tell us where in the world your friends are.

3. Start your own circle

Think of the friends you’d miss most if you left Facebook. Start a circle for them – it takes about two minutes – and send them your invitation link. Once they join, they can start circles of their own.

4. Don’t quit Facebook – yet

You don’t have to give up anything today. Just start a new habit: every time you post something on Facebook, take ten seconds to post it on Global Twin Cities too. As more of your friends join you here, you’ll find yourself spending more time here and less time there.
